— Satta Entertainment has announced a new wrestling sitcom called Wrestling With Joeylicious. Joey Cassata (IFC’s Z Rock) stars along with a rotating cast of wrestling legends like Mick Foley, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, Tito Santana and others. It’s a single-camera half-hour comedy film in and around New York City.

Here’s a synopsis: “It will follow Joey’s trials and tribulations as he attempts to lead a normal life balancing work, family and a romance while desperately clinging to his dream of becoming the greatest professional wrestler of all time. Throughout the show, Joey’s obsession with wrestling will manifest itself through daydreams, featuring cameo performances from wrestling stars of the past and present. Though they may seem real to Joey, these hard-hitting legends are merely figments of his imagination, often leaving Joey in very awkward moments in front of his family and friends. In a moment of weakness, when Joey worries that he’ll never make it as a wrestler, WWE Hall of Famer Roddy Piper suddenly pops out of his closet, putting him in a devastating sleeper hold. Joey thanks the Hot Rod for his helpful intervention, as he slowly loses consciousness.”
