A Fan Report From Last Night’s Live SmackDown! Broadcast

Even though the crowd was maybe 60% full at the start of Main Event, Sandow was as expected, super over. I think Jack Swagger was in a match prior to the taping.

As you guys noted, the New Day (Kofi and Big E) beat Miz and MizDow. The New Day barely got any reaction, except for a small group of fans near the ring.

After the matches you guys mentioned for Main Event and Smackdown!, a lot of fans started to leave. Literally a minute after Bryan and the casket, and refs pushing it, exited……and then John Cena’s music hit. Tons of fans started returning to their seats.

The dark match featured Cena and Dean Ambrose defeating Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt. It lasted a good 10-15 minutes. J and J Security got involved. Ambrose nailed Rollins and J&J with a crossbody from the top rope to the outside. Cena then nailed Wyatt with an AA and the good guys obviously won. I couldn’t tell if it was Mercury or Noble, but one of them picked up Rollins and ran him off over his back.

John Cena, of course, got his 50/50 response.

It was pathetic how little of a reaction there was for The Ascension (who were booed when they won) and The New Day.

I guess it’s typical for the world we live in now, but it seemed like the fans for more rooting for Big Show over Reigns, Miz and Mizdow over New Day, etc. It seems like most root for who, “we aren’t supposed to cheer for.”

I was glad Dolph wrestled on Main Event, but a lot around me were upset Ryback (who was actually really over) only appeared once with the brief run in.

All in all, for tickets that were supposed to be for a Raw show, I was pleasantly surprised and happy. Glad we got to see Main Event plus the dark match. We had a lot of fun and it seemed that most that I could see did as well.
