— As previously reported here on the website, the ongoing saga of Rey Mysterio’s WWE status continues. As previously reported, there was a plan put together to have Mysterio involved in a storyline that would run from Survivor Series through WrestleMania, but that obviously never happened.
According to a source, that storyline would have ended in Mysterio’s likely departure from the company. With the storyline being dropped, there are no plans to bring Mysterio back in and creative has been told not to worry about coming up with anything for him. It’ll be interesting to see if WWE brings him back for tonight’s “RAW Reunion” show but as of last word, it was not expected. Obviously, that could have changed by now. We shall see in just a few minutes!
— As previously reported, the Thursday night episode of SmackDown saw a 10% jump in viewership from the previous week. The 18 – 49 demo rating was delayed but has now come in and the show drew a 0.8 demo rating, up a tenth from last week.
Much like the viewership, the demo rating was the highest since the November 28th episode which also drew a 0.8. The show was the #2 original cable show for the night behind TNT’s NBA game, which drew less viewers (2.02 million vs. SmackDown’s 2.65 million) but a 1.0 demo rating.
