Bill Goldberg recently spoke with TMZ and he was asked about the death of Perro Aguayo Jr in Mexico this past weekend, due to a snapped spine. Aguayo was motionless on the ropes for almost two minutes before he was treated.
Goldberg said it was a freak accident and wrestling is still a safe sport, as in-ring accidents are rare. He said: “Name the amount of people who’ve died in the ring over the past 50 years.”
When asked if WWE should do a tribute to Aguayo at WrestleMania, he replied: “There’s no doubt, there needs to be a silent bell or a moment of silence for him … there’s no doubt.”
