While Kane announced the options for the WWE Payback main event fan voting in a way that would heavily favor the triple threat match between Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Randy Orton, the voting was reportedly 100% legitimate.
The final vote tally was 78% for the triple threat match, 15% for Roman Reigns and 7% for Randy Orton.
Also, former WWE creative writer Kevin Eck said the following regarding the WWE App voting:
It was all completely legitimate.
I know many will be skeptical, but it’s the truth. I can tell you that there were times when I and other members of the creative team suggested to Vince McMahon that we work the results to get the desired outcome, but he always refused to “compromise the integrity of the voting.”
I felt like we were working ourselves, especially since the majority of people didn’t believe the voting was legit anyway.
