According to sources, it appears that Austin Aries is done with TNA Wrestling. It had been previously reported that his contract was ending sometime this week, and that the sides were negotiating. At Saturday night’s TNA iMPACT! Wrestling tapings, Aries wrestled Rockstar Spud. The match stipulation was that if Aries won, he got to take Spud’s “Rockstar” name; but if Spud won, Aries had to leave TNA. Spud won the match, and that appears to be Aries’ exit from the company.
While TNA is taping TV into August at these tapings, and the Aries exit should air in late July or early August, the roster has undergone a big change over the last week or so. Gunner, Samuel Shaw, James Storm, Magnus, Low Ki and now Aries are finished with the company. It appears that James Storm & Magnus could be used for TV tapings in the future (and Aries could also fall into that same situation), but things are certainly changing for TNA.
