Former UFC star and GFW television commentator Chael Sonnen is scheduled to meet with WWE announcer Michael Cole at the 8/11 WWE SmackDown tapings in Portland, Oregon.
According to sources, the meeting between Sonnen and Cole was set up by WWE talent scout Gerald Brisco and WWE’s Senior Director of Talent Development, Canyon Ceman.
Sonnen, a former UFC title challenger who is now working with GFW, was in San Jose for this year’s WrestleMania, as well as the Hall Of Fame ceremony. It was reported at the time that Sonnen was there to have a meeting with Kevin Dunn about a potential WWE television role, however nothing ended up coming from the meeting.
