Ring of Honor Title may be defended at the promotion’s recently-announced shows in Tokyo in partnership with New Japan Pro Wrestling. While the plan hasn’t been officially discussed, the match in early discussions would pit Jay Lethal against Michael Elgin.
There is also some discussion about ROH handling NJPW’s Tokyo Dome PPV in January, although that is not “at the forefront of the recent discussions.” It isn’t known whether Jeff Jarrett has first rights to it due to the deal that saw GFW present the show last year.
The Briscoes and Matt Sydal have been discussed as possibilities to work New Japan Shows, while War Machine is set to work for NJPW’s sister production NOAH for a possible GHC Tag team Title shot against Lance Archer & Davey Boy Smith Jr.
