The city of Pizzaferto, Italy, where Bruno Sammartino was born, honored the living legend with a surprise celebration on October 6. Around 1,500 residents, including the city’s Mayor, were in attendance. They called Sammartino at home without him knowing what was going to happen, then sang “Happy Birthday” to him for his 80th birthday. The story made local Italian newspapers.
Meanwhile, Sammartino recently spent around fifteen hours filming interview footage for upcoming WWE Network specials, DVD and Blu-ray releases.
