The man who was shot outside the WWE Performance Center in August after charging police officers has spoken with WFTV channel 9 in Orlando for a new interview. Armando Alejandro Montalvo — who was arrested and charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and trespassing — told the news station that he wanted to become a wrestler and thought he was on a reality series.
Montalvo said that he ran at the police officers who responded to the call by staff at the Performance Center because he believed that he would be shot with a stun gun, which would make him look tough for the “reality show” cameras he thought were present.
Montalvo is out of the hospital and has pled not guilty to all charges. His father told the station that he understands he is not allowed to go near the Performance Center anymore. He had a restraining order against him at the time of his arrest for allegedly trespassing and vandalizing the Center. His trial is set to begin in February.
