The murder trial of Jimmy Snuka in the case of Nancy Argentino’s death will start on March 22nd, 2016. LeHigh Valley Live reports that the judge in the case scheduled that date for the start of jury selection during a pretrial hearing on Tuesday.
Snuka, a WWE Hall of Famer, is charged with third-degree murder and involuntary slaughter in the May 11th, 1983 death of Argentino who was his girlfriend at the time. Snuka has argued for years that death was the result of an accident in which Argentino slipped and hit her head on a rock while the couple had parked on the side of a highway to go to the bathroom.
Also during the hearing, it was noted that several of Argentino’s family members violated a gag order in the case. In particular, Snuka’s attorney said that since the gag ordered was issued, Louise Argentino-Upham had re-posted twenty-three articles about the incident on Facebook.
The judge ordered prosecutors to remind Argentino-Upham that the re-postings violate the gage order and that if it continued, sanctions against the prosecutors would be considered.
