The buzz out of the Royal Rumble spiked RAW’s rating to the highest point since the day after WrestleMania 31. Monday night’s episode drew 4.098 million viewers and a 1.49 rating in the 18 – 49 demographic, up 17% and 22% from last week’s 3.496 million and 1.22 demo rating. The viewership was the best since the June 15th episode pulled in 4.114 million watchers, while the demo rating topped every week since the March 30th episode spike to a 1.86 following WrestleMania.
While the show didn’t have football to deal with, neither was it scott-free; new programming was back on all the networks and The X-Files is bringing in strong ratings, while the other broadcast shows held well also. RAW ranked #2 for the night among cable originals when all three hours were averaged, behind Love & Hip-Hop on VH-1 (1.5 demo rating, 2.778 million viewers). The hourly numbers were as follows:
8 PM: 1.44 demo rating (4.140 million viewers)
9 PM: 1.53 demo rating (4.183 million viewers)
10 PM: 1.51 demo rating (3.972 million viewers)
