According to sources, WWE is trying to put together a deal to get Snoop Dogg as this year’s celebrity induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. The rumor was mentioned by Jim Ross in his blog this week as well. Regis Philbin was originally planned for the spot but the company decided to switch gears and go with the rapper instead.
In addition, former Good Morning America host Joan Lunden is expected to be the recipient of this year’s Warrior Award. While Warrior originally suggested that the award be given to people who work backstage for WWE for little notice, WWE has decided between last year’s recipient Connor Michalek and their plans going forward to give the award to those who meant a lot to charitable causes. Lunden was very public about her battle with breast cancer in 2014 and has become a advocate for the fight against the disease.
