Backstage Update – Ryback Likely To Be Released Shortly

According to sources, the decision to take Ryback off of WWE TV was made prior the Payback pay-per-view. At this time, he is not expected back with the company; his merchandise was priced down for quick sale, which is something WWE does when releasing a talent or a talent is leaving. The feeling is that it will be easier to let his contract expire than release him.

There were several issues between “The Big Guy” and WWE; they were far apart on money and Ryback made several other demands that Vince wasn’t going to break on. One such item of discussion was that Ryback wanted his new contract to be guaranteed for its term, meaning if he were released for any reason, he would still be paid in full. One source said some of his demands were “mind boggling” and there is no way Vince McMahon would give into his demands.

Multiple sources say it’s only a matter of time before he’s released, likely when his contract expires within the next few months.
