Goldberg’s deal to appear in WWE 2K17 might just be a sign that Vince McMahon’s opinion on the former WCW and WWE star has changed a bit. The Wrestling Observer reports that McMahon was the person who prevented Goldberg from appearing in WWE 2K15 and 2K16, having blocked 2K’s previous attempts to include him in the games.
McMahon has had a negative opinion on Goldberg since he left the company on poor terms when his one-year deal with WWE expired in 2004. According to the site, McMahon was so negative on him that when he had talks with UFC announcer Mike Goldberg about possibly coming on board, he wanted Goldberg to change his last name.
As previously reported, Goldberg’s deal is with 2K Sports and not with WWE itself.
