WWE did an angle where Stephanie McMahon fired Mick Foley as Raw general manager on tonight’s Raw. As previously mentioned, Foley will be having hip replacement surgery soon that will require him to miss at least six weeks. His right hip is the cause of his limping. No confirmed word on if Foley will return once he’s ready, but it seems like this stint in WWE is probably done for the foreseeable future.
There have been rumors that Kurt Angle may end up replacing Foley as Raw GM. He’s expected to have an on-air role after WrestleMania and the role of GM seems like the most logical. Angle has been rumored to appear on the Raw after WrestleMania, but that could just be him giving a “thank you” promo and it doesn’t necessarily mean that they’ll have him take over as GM right away.
Foley posted this on Twitter:
Thank you @WWEUniverse for the privilege of being part of your Monday nights. #RawBrooklyn
