Jake “The Snake” Roberts was a guest on a recent episode of The Roman Show podcast discussing his thoughts on Roman Reigns, past struggles with drug addiction, and other topics
When asked about Roman Reigns, Roberts stated he felt the WWE needs to turn him heel to take advantage of the constant negative crowd reactions Reigns has been getting with his big pushes. Also didn’t think the WWE is going to succeed with their current plans for Reigns’ stardom if they keep trying to force it to happen.
“Enjoy it. I mean, why in God’s name would you try to change what the masses want? The masses want to hate the guy, let them hate, just pay me [Roman] while you [the fans] are doing it.”
When asked about his history of drug addictions, Roberts revealed working on his documentary called “The Resurrection of Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts,” reopened painful memories but wanted it to help send a message to other struggling to not give up in the end.
“It sucked. It hurt. Why wouldn’t it? I bared all my bones. The good thing is, from what I’m being told, this is the second best resurrection of all time …
“Never give up. That’s the key. You’re going to have good days, you’re going to have bad days, but they’re still days. The bottom line is, never give up. If you fall, get up and start again the next day. You can do it.”
Roberts later revealed during the interview he was very happy for DDP getting inducted into WWE’s Hall of Fame this year. He also stated he would like having another run in the WWE if they ever needed him for a future storyline or event.
