Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis have signed with WWE and could possibly eventually debut on SmackDown Live, according to Wade Keller of PWTorch.
There has been talk that they’d been offered WWE contracts for a while now after they left Impact Wrestling in February, choosing not to sign new contracts.
What’s interesting is the rumor that they could possibly debut on the main roster instead of joining NXT first, but we’ll see what happens.
Maria was part of WWE from 2004 until her release in 2010. She competed in the Raw Diva Search in 2004, though she didn’t win, then was sent to WWE’s developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling. Mike Bennett has never been under contract with WWE, but he did appear as a jobber on a 2007 episode of WWE Heat, losing in a tag team match to Cryme Tyme.
