WWE debuted an updated SmackDown intro, with wrestlers from the “superstar shake-up” being added. Interestingly, John Cena and Nikki Bella have been removed.

On Talking Smack, Erick Rowan requested a match with Luke Harper at Backlash and Shane McMahon granted it.

Before SmackDown, Tye Dillinger defeated Aiden English in a dark match. They will be facing each other on the Backlash Kickoff Show.
