Tommaso Ciampa sprained his ankle at an NXT house show Thursday night, but the tag team ladder match at NXT TakeOver on Saturday night will be going on as expected for now, Triple H said earlier today.
WWE will likely protect Ciampa and try to have him do less than usual (rather than scrapping the match or some other more drastic change) if his ankle is still bothering him or if it gets worse by tomorrow night, according to Dave Meltzer.
WWE posted this video today and both Ciampa and Johnny Gargano retweeted it (hours after Ciampa’s injury), so it seems like everyone is planning on the match still taking place.
