Well, uh, that was unexpected? Mauro Ranallo has announced via his Instagram account that he’s re-joining WWE to do play by play for the NXT brand. It clearly makes sense for all parties involved as Mauro loves calling wrestling, WWE clearly rate him as an announcer while really stopping him from disparaging the company if and when that alleged non-disparagement agreement ended while keeping him away from JBL. Personally, I can only see good from this, even though I do miss him on Smackdown. His full post is embedded below.
Update:
Mauro has signed a new multi-year deal with WWE and will begin at the NXT TV tapings tomorrow night, according to the Wrestling Observer. He will also call NXT TakeOver events. The deal has been agreed upon in principle for weeks. His WWE contract was set to expire in August.
