Chris Jericho’s surprise return to Smackdown earlier this week is rumored to have been a one-night only type deal, according to this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Jericho is not currently advertised for any upcoming SmackDown shows. Meltzer speculated Jericho’s surprise return was likely just WWE’s way of having AJ Styles win back the United States championship without having Kevin Owens suffer another pinfall loss on television.
Jericho is currently expected to be going on tour within the next few weeks to promote his newest book, “No is a Four Letter Word.” In regards to Jericho’s Fozzy commitments, he is scheduled to resume touring with the band mid-September. The band’s newest album “Judas” is set to be released on October 13th.
