Dolph Ziggler was interviewed backstage after his loss to Bobby Roode on SmackDown and said that he was disappointed in his loss, he thinks the WWE universe doesn’t back him anymore, the people behind the scenes never did, and he needs to “rethink this career.” He also called Bobby Roode a “kid” a couple of times despite Roode being like three years older than him.
There have been rumors lately that Ziggler’s time with WWE could be winding down, so we’ll see if this means anything…
I tend to lose every time I step foot in the ring. So, as prepared as I was, as on top of my game as I was, as excited as I was to represent team SmackDown at Survivor Series, I wanted to prove a point that I belong here. And I didn’t do that. No matter how much I stepped up my game, it wasn’t enough. It’s not that I don’t have it. I had it tonight, but Bobby Roode’s as good as he says he is. I say he’s a catch phrase, I say he’s an entrance, I say he’s a new kid…
As much as it used to mean a lot more beating me in the ring, the WWE universe doesn’t back me anymore. People behind the scenes never did to begin with. This has always been about me. And I couldn’t deliver tonight. Toe to toe with this kid, he’s gonna go places. And he wasn’t just an entrance. He was better than me.
So clearly, I need to rethink this career, I think.
