Lucha Underground posted this tweet today announcing that season 4 will be “coming 2018” to El Rey Network.

Season 4 was previously up in the air as they had not been able to find financial backers, but it looks like something has been worked out. There were rumors that they had found a potential funding source recently, but that the show’s budget would have to be cut by a lot.
Another issue is the Lucha Underground roster, with many of the wrestlers trapped in seven season contracts and not able to work on any other televised US promotion until that expires. Word was that a lot of wrestlers just want their release, which is understandable since seven seasons seem like they will take forever at this rate. Ricochet’s contract was luckily for only three seasons, so he will be free when his 90 day non-compete clause expires in January.
