Following Dolph Ziggler’s vacancy of the United States Championship, General Manager Daniel Bryan announced during Tuesday’s Smackdown that a tournament would be held to crown a new champion. While only two matches were announced due to Bryan being interrupted, WWE just revealed both the full list of competitors and the bracket for the tournament.
This week’s episode of Smackdown saw Jinder Mahal defeat Tye Dillinger and Bobby Roode defeat Baron Corbin as part of the tournament’s first round matchups. The other matches for the first round were revealed to be Zack Ryder vs. Mojo Rawley and Xavier Woods vs. Aiden English. Mahal will be facing the winner of the Woods vs. English match while Roode will be facing the winner of the Ryder vs. Rawley match.
The final match will likely take place at the Royal Rumble.
