As previously reported, Roman Reigns has been accused of being a high profile customer for a now defunct illegal steroids company called Wellness Fitness Nutrition. Reigns issued a statement last week denying having any association with this company and claims of him using illegal steroids.
In an update to this situation, the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that Roman Reigns losing the Intercontinental Championship on RAW’s 25th anniversary show was not punishment by WWE for these allegations. Meltzer stated that the current feeling within the company is that the accusations are a non-story and WWE only wanted Reigns to drop the title in order to go forward with their current WrestleMania plans for him, where he is rumored to be facing Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship.
In regards to The Miz, Meltzer stated that WWE currently has plans for him to get a major push soon which is another reason why for his Intercontinental Championship victory on Monday. WWE has Miz penciled in for a “major match” at WrestleMania, though the opponent is unknown for now (if WWE even has a specific opponent planned). The upcoming “Miz & Mrs.” reality TV show on the USA Network is another factor behind Miz’s upcoming push.
