Impact announced yesterday that Alberto El Patron has been released from the company after no-showing an Impact vs. Lucha Underground show Friday night and an Impact signing appearance the next day.
There have been rumors that Alberto will now possibly return to WWE after he reportedly met with Vince McMahon last month. There’s been speculation that he could even appear at WrestleMania. However, according to PWInsider, Alberto is now back home in Texas. WWE sources also told PWInsider that they have not had recent discussions with Alberto about a return to WWE.
Alberto’s Impact contract also was set to expire on April 21. He reportedly had an offer for a new one year deal with a raise over his current contract. He was by far the highest paid member of the roster, so Impact will now be able to use that money (probably) more wisely.
