Radio station KISS FM UK held a recent interview with The Rock discussing WWE’s original plans for Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 34, why he was unable to appear at the event, and more.
On the topic of WWE’s original WrestleMania plans for Ronda Rousey, Rock stated he was initially planned to be Rousey’s tag partner for the mixed tag match against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania 34.
“Oh yeah, absolutely. Sure! As a matter of fact, Vince McMahon and I were talking probably about two months ago trying to figure out what I was going to do if I went back to WrestleMania. He pitched me this really great idea that involved a tag match with Ronda Rousey – who’s incredible – I’m very proud of her, and Triple H, and Stephanie [McMahon].”
On the topic of why he did not appear at WrestleMania 34, Rock revealed it was due to film commitments at the time which required him to be out of the country.
“We were really excited about it on the phone. We couldn’t make it work this time because I was in Shanghai [for a film premiere], but who knows down the line.”
Other topics discussed during the interview included Rock’s daily routine, his newest film Rampage, and thoughts on Conor McGregor.
