WWE: HBK Turned Down Wrestling at Saudi Rumble, Prayer Break?

Shawn Michaels Turned Down Wrestling at Greatest Royal Rumble

On X-Pac’s 12360 podcast, X-Pac said that WWE offered a lot of money to Shawn Michaels for him to wrestle at the Greatest Royal Rumble, but he turned it down because he didn’t want to come out of retirement.

“There’s a lot of money being thrown around. It’s an insane amount of money being thrown around. I know that this weekend I was in Baltimore and I was with Shawn Michaels, Scott Hall, and Kevin Nash and we were talking about that.

“You know they wanted to get Shawn, and he was just like, ‘you know what, don’t even bother sending me an offer and trying to tempt me’. Cause there’s huge money offers. And he’s going, ‘I got a thing with one of my kids, and I’m doing that and that’s all there is to it’. So good for him.”

Prayer Break

There will apparently be a less than 15 minute prayer break during the Greatest Royal Rumble, but it “will not impact the television audience,” according to Dave Meltzer.

At a previous show in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in 2015, the show had to be stopped for one hour so that the entire audience could leave to pray…

Chris Jericho talked about it to CBS Sports:

“Last time we were there, the show started at 5 p.m. and we had to stop at 6 p.m. so the entire audience — who were all made up of males, by the way, there were no women allowed in the show — could go out and pray at 6 p.m.,” Jericho said. “So that was kind of weird.”

Commentary
