Hogan Meeting
The entire Raw and SmackDown roster was brought in to Extreme Rules because they were told that they were needed for a meeting at the PPV. This of course turned out to be a meeting with Hulk Hogan, who apologized to the roster for his past racist comments.
No one was aware of the nature of the meeting before arriving, according to PWInsider.
Hogan left the show halfway through and was never scheduled to appear on the show, though the meeting was reportedly recorded for an upcoming WWE Network special.
Match Order
The original plan was for the Iron Man match to open the show and the Reigns vs. Lashley match to close the show, according to PWInsider. However, the order was changed late in the day.
Vince McMahon
Vince McMahon was not backstage at Extreme Rules, PWInsider says, but he was in communication with officials at the show. Triple H and Billy Kidman were running the “gorilla position” for the show.
