FOX Reportedly Adding Three New WWE Shows to FS1 Starting Next Year

As noted before, WWE recently signed new television contracts with both NBC and FOX for five years in length. As part of the deals, RAW will remain on the USA Network while SmackDown will be moving to FOX starting late next year.

The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s newsletter that there have been recent talks within FOX about adding new WWE shows to FS1 based on their sports programming model. The Athletic’s Richard Dietsch reported that FOX is considering adding a pre-game show on Fridays prior to SmackDown, a post-game show on Sundays following the end of WWE pay-per-view events, and a weekly studio show possibly on Wednesdays similar in format to their former UFC Tonight show.

Meltzer also reported that FOX’s contract with WWE only involves SmackDown for in-ring wrestling programming and there have been no talks to include more weekly in-ring wrestling shows (like NXT) on either FOX or FS1.

Kane Comments on Vince McMahon’s Support During His Mayoral Campaign

Sports Illustrated held a recent interview with Kane and one of the topics discussed involved Vince McMahon being very supportive during his Knox County mayoral campaign.

“Vince wants all of us to do well, no matter what we’re doing, because it reflects well on the company. On a personal level, between me and him, it’s important to me that he is proud of me. He’s done so much for me and for my family. He sent me a text that got me all choked up.”
