Shawn Michaels announced on Raw tonight that he is officially returning to the ring after over eight years of “retirement.”
Shawn Michaels and Triple H will wrestle in a tag team match against The Undertaker and Kane at Crown Jewel on November 2 in Saudi Arabia.
Michaels said that he used to respect The Undertaker, but sometimes you lose that respect. He said it was a long way from Australia to Chicago (the site of Raw) and it gave him a long time to think about the beat down that the Undertaker and Kane gave them at Super Show-Down, and it was a long time to think about the last eight and a half years of sitting at home and honoring his word out of respect for the Undertaker – a respect that never existed. Triple H then asked him, “Are you ready?” Michaels said “D-Generation X is ready, and I say this with no respect at all: If you’re not down with that, we’ve got two words for you.” He and Triple H then tore off their shirts, revealing DX t-shirts underneath.
There have been rumors that Shawn Michaels could return for a singles match against The Undertaker later and that obviously wouldn’t be surprising.
Michaels turned down wrestling at Greatest Royal Rumble in April, but obviously WWE offered him an amount that he couldn’t turn down this time.
