As noted before, WWE agreed to a new television contract with FOX to become the new home of SmackDown starting in early October 2019.
FOX will also be airing Major League Baseball playoff games during that time and it is likely that FOX would move SmackDown to their cable channel, Fox Sports 1 if an MLB game falls on a Friday night in October. MLB would be unlikely to schedule games (and especially the World Series) around Friday nights just because FOX has SmackDown, Dave Meltzer speculated in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Game 3 of this year’s World Series drew more than 13 million viewers for FOX in last Friday’s prime time spot.
