Drew Gulak & Jack Gallagher defeated Akira Tozawa & Brian Kendrick

Gulak and Gallagher came down and we got a recap of Gulak getting beaten up by Tozawa, which allowed Kendrick to beat up Gallagher a couple of weeks ago. Backstage, Tozawa and Kendrick were interviewed about being a team before Tozawa made wacky faces and made people laugh off-screen before leaving. Kendrick left awkwardly. Alrighty then.

Gulak came in to start before tagging out to Gallagher, then Kendrick charged at Gulak in the corner and Gulak bailed off the apron. Tozawa came in and worked with Gallagher for a bit until a quick tag to Kendrick led to a big uppercut and a tag to Gulak. Gulak attacked while Kendrick was down, but he ate a beating until Gallagher came in and he landed some measured punches to Kendrick. Gallagher hung him up on the rope before a lariat from Gulak got two.

Gulak landed an atomic drop before a big knee to the jaw from Gallagher got two. Kendrick was on defense against both Gulak and Gallagher before Tozawa came in like a house of fire.

Tozawa hit a jumping kick that sent Gulak to the floor before hitting a suicide dive. Tozawa got the standing octopus on Gulak until Gallagher threw Kendrick into them to break it up. Tozawa argued with Kendrick until Gulak cradled Tozawa for the win.

Backstage: Buddy Murphy, Mustafa Ali

Murphy and Ali had a weigh-in ahead of Survivor Series before Maverick broke up a near-brawl between them. Murphy, in a shirt that was at least a size too small, said he’ll destroy Ali at the pay-per-view.

The Lucha House Party (Kalisto & Lince Dorado) defeated Mike Karma & Kraig Keesaman

An enhancement team were mid-ring to face the Lucha House Party. Dorado landed a big crossbody and a snap rana. He laid out his opponent with a giant superkick before tagging Kalisto in. They had a series of double-team splashes before landing a double pop-up dropkick. The Salida Del Sol landed and the Shooting Star Press won it. This was a short match, but a fine showcase for the Lucha House Party.

Maria Kanellis said she’s the first lady and she congratulates them on a victory while they can still get one — because they still have to deal with her husband and TJP. TJP faces Metalik next week. Maria is fantastic as a sinister heel.

Cedric Alexander defeated Lio Rush

Before the match, Alexander cut a selfie promo about being unbeaten for a year because he was hard-working, but Lio Rush just views this as a way to get famous.

Alexander rushed in before Rush cowered in the corner. Alexander grabbed the arm and we got a staredown after a snap rana from Rush led to a handstand counter from Alexander. Rush got an ankle pick and a slap before eating a massive dropkick. Alexander chopped him on the rope and hit a big backdrop. A turnbuckle PK hit for Alexander, but he ate a corner kick before Rush landed a suicide dive that showcased several empty rows of seats.

Rush landed a series of corner strikes until locking on a long sleeper on the mat. Alexander went to escape before landing nasty elbows to the back of the head. Alexander backed him into the corner, but Rush escaped and landed a series of kicks for one. Alexander hit the back elbow and a corner high kick sent Rush down. A springboard high kick hit for Alexander and got two.

A slingshot flatliner hit and got two for Alexander. Rush hit a double rotation Unprettier and got two. Rush landed a strong style forearm shiver and used a victory roll for two. Alexander hit a Spanish Fly, but he landed on his head. Rush went for the Final Hour — but Alexander avoided it.

Rush went for a rana, then Alexander went for a powerbomb — only to eat a rana for two. A bottom rope handspring stunner hit for Rush and got two. Alexander landed the Spanish Fly and held on to hit the Lumbar Check for the win. This was an outstanding match and Rush’s best match since his debut.

Backstage: Mustafa Ali

Ali cut a promo on Murphy and said that his heart will defeat Murphy’s anger.
