Larry “The Axe” Hennig, legendary wrestler, father of Mr. Perfect and grandfather of Curtis Axel, passed away today at age 82 from kidney failure. He’s primarily known for his time in the AWA, where he was a four time Tag Team Champion in the 1960s. He also briefly wrestled in the WWF in the 1980s, unsuccessfully challenging Bruno Sammartino for the WWF World Championship.
