Netflix is close to closing a deal for a Hulk Hogan biographical movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The movie would star Chris Hemsworth (Thor) as Hulk Hogan and would be directed by Todd Phillips and co-written by Scott Silver and John Pollono. Phillips and Silver are also the director/writer team for the upcoming “The Joker” movie starring Joaquin Phoenix.
The movie “will focus on [Hogan’s] rise and is described as an origin story of the Hulkster and Hulkamania,” The Hollywood Reporter says. They also say that it won’t include any of the racism or sex tape stuff that came later in Hogan’s life.
Hogan will be a consultant on the movie and an executive producer. The deal with Netflix includes Hogan’s life rights.
