FOX’s SmackDown Live Debut Date Revealed

FOX reportedly has recently begun airing advertisements stating that SmackDown Live will be premiering on their network on October 4th.

As noted before, SmackDown Live will be moving from the USA Network to FOX starting this October as part of the new television contracts WWE signed last year with both NBC and FOX.


Debut Date for Miz and Mrs. Season 2 Announced

WWE announced earlier today that the second season of their Miz and Mrs. reality series will premiere on USA Network on April 2nd at 10PM ET.

It was also announced that this new season will be 14 episodes in length.


WWE Network Hidden Gems Addition

This week’s addition to WWE Network’s Hidden Gems series is Black History Month themed, featuring four classic matches.

The first gem is from a March 3, 1966 event from Championship Wrestling From Florida featuring a singles match of Sputnik Monroe vs. Jack Pesek.

Legendary pioneer Sputnik Monroe goes one-on-one with Jack Pesek in this bout from Florida.

The second gem is from a September 7, 1974 event from AWA featuring a tag team match of Bobby Heenan & Sheik vs. Bobo Brazil & Dick the Bruiser.

Bobby Heenan teams up with the sadistic Sheik to face the tough tandem of Bobo Brazil and Dick the Bruiser from historic Comiskey Park.

The third gem is from a February 14, 1978 event from Championship Wrestling From Florida featuring a NWA Florida Tag Team Championship match of Rocky Johnson & Pedro Morales vs. Ivan Koloff & Mr. Saito (c).

Championship Wrestling From Florida 02/14/1978 – Tangling in Tampa

The Florida Tag Team Championships are on the line as WWE Hall of Famers Rocky Johnson and Pedro Morales take on Ivan Koloff and Mr. Saito.

The fourth and final gem is from a September 9, 1983 event from Houston Wrestling featuring a singles match of Junkyard Dog vs. “Mad Dog” Buzz Sawyer.

Junkyard Dog and ‘Mad Dog’ Buzz Sawyer battle to see whether it’s the size of the dog in the fight or the size of the fight in the dog.


Misc. Wrestling News & Notes

Impact Wrestling announced that their new weekly Xplosion series will be airing on Wednesdays starting at 7PM ET on Twitch. The debut episode aired last night with very little advance warning and reportedly drew a peak viewership of 259 viewers.

Major League Wrestling announced another new match for the card of their March 2nd MLW Intimidation Games event in Cicero, Illinois:
Brian Pillman Jr. vs. Alex Hammerstone.

MLW also announced that Air Wolf will be making his official debut for the company at their upcoming Intimidation Games event.

Game Changer Wrestling announced a new match for the card of their April 5th Joey Janela’s Spring Break 3 Part One event in Jersey City, New Jersey:
