In-Ring: The New Day, Vince McMahon, Daniel Bryan

WWE Smackdown Live kicks off with The New Day coming out. A loud “Kofi” chant from the crowd. Xavier Woods says if they can be serious for a minute, obviously the past few months were emotional for them. Big E states that the fans have been with them for nearly 5 years. How they performed all around the world for the WWE universe and they want to thank the fans. Big E says that he and Xavier spoke and considering all the constant obstacles thrown in Kofi’s way, they have discussed walking away. The thing that has been hard on them is watching how poorly Kofi has been treated. And it’s not just recently but for the past 11 years. They know they have to make a decision but they can’t make that decision until they get some answers. And unfortunately the person who has those answers is Mr. McMahon. Xavier Woods says that they, The New Day, are asking Mr. McMahon to come out and address them face to face to be able to talk about the issues they have. And they have no problem waiting in the middle of the ring until he does.

Vince McMahon’s music hits and out comes the WWE chairman. He gets in the ring and grabs a microphone. He says that first of all, Kofi…

But he’s interrupted by WWE champion Daniel Bryan and Rowan. Bryan says to hold on. He tells Vince that if the New Day want to quit, to let them quit. Because the New Day is nothing but a stale novelty act. One that he, Vince created. If he wants to create another one, they’ll grab 3 people from NXT and call them Fresh Afternoon. And they’ll be more popular than the New Day. And the reason for that is because Kofi Kingston is nothing more than a B+ player. Daniel says Kofi lost last week, lost at Fastlane, lost at Elimination Chamber. Don’t let Big E and Xavier Woods or the audience get in his head. Bryan says Vince has been right about Kofi every step of the way. And his instincts are 100% correct. He says Vince is right and the people are wrong. And just like Kofi Kingston, these people refuse to accept that reality.

Xavier Woods says that the reality is that Bryan is afraid to face Kofi one on one. Xavier calls Bryan a hypocrite and that’s why he’s out here.

Vince interrupts. Vince says the New Day wants to quit? No, they won’t quit. Vince says they never were going to quit, everyone loves what they have. Vince says that Kofi is still and always will be a B+ player. The only question is if Big E and Xavier Woods are a B+ tag team. Vince asks if they can put Kofi Kingston in the WWE title match at WrestleMania. All they have to do is win a tag team gauntlet match tonight, and Kofi Kingston is in at WrestleMania.
