UFC officially announced that Daniel Cormier will defend the UFC Heavyweight Championship against Stipe Miocic at UFC 241 on Saturday, August 17 in Anaheim, CA.
That means that a Cormier vs. Brock Lesnar fight is officially not happening. UFC president Dana White said last week that Brock Lesnar told him that he is retiring from MMA. UFC reportedly didn’t match the money that Lesnar wanted to fight again.
Cormier won the UFC Heavyweight Championship from Miocic via first round knockout at UFC 226 in July.
