Tony Schiavone was the host in the “control room” for an episode of AEW’s Road to All Out earlier this week, which led to speculation about his status with the company.
Schiavone is currently in the midst of a three year contract as the commentator for Major League Wrestling, which he signed in April 2018.
MLW CEO Court Bauer released this statement today to Dave Meltzer: “Unless AEW elects to reach out, Tony Schiavone cannot proceed with AEW or any other company doing anything. I was unaware of him doing the digital stuff until I read it in this week’s Observer.”
When asked by someone on Twitter if he was “working for AEW” earlier this month, Schiavone said that he wasn’t.
I am not. I just like to help @CodyRhodes when I can. https://t.co/DFJwwxiyUa
