WWE’s plan right now is to go back to a legitimate Raw and SmackDown roster split once SmackDown moves to FOX in October, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
The Observer added that there still “may be some minor crossover” but it won’t be nearly as muddled as it is now.
Part of the reason is that WWE wants there to be legitimately separate brands under Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff, with separate storylines and rosters. As it is now, storylines constantly overlap on both shows and it’s almost as if there is no real brand split. With each show having different creative teams, it makes sense to not cross over storylines.
As for the rosters, the belief right now is that they will basically stay as they currently are, with possibly a few minor changes, the Observer says.
