WWE Postpones This Weekend’s NXT House Shows Due to Hurricane Dorian

WWE announced that due to the threat of Hurricane Dorian, this weekend’s set of NXT house show events in Florida have been postponed and rescheduled for a later date.

Friday’s NXT house show event in Jacksonville, Florida was rescheduled for September 20th and Saturday’s NXT house show event in Fort Pierce, Florida will now be taking place on September 28th.


AEW Double or Nothing PPV Buys Update

All Elite Wrestling reportedly generated around 111,000 pay-per-view buys for Double or Nothing, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s issue that Double or Nothing set a new record for most pay-per-view buys for an event from a wrestling promotion without television.

Initial estimates for Double or Nothing reportedly were between 98,000 to 113,000 buys with the majority coming from the United States and being an even split between traditional PPV and B/R Live.


Misc. Wrestling News & Notes

Lucha Libre AAA officials reportedly are considering replacing Vampiro with Joe Dombrowski for their English commentary team for major events going forward, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Dave Meltzer reported that AAA officials were very pleased with Dombrowski’s commentary work at Triplemania XXVII earlier this month.

NJPW reportedly will be holding next year’s G1 Climax tournament in the fall instead of the usual July-August time frame due to scheduling issues with several key arenas for the 2020 Olympics in Japan, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Ring of Honor announced that Dalton Castle, Jay Lethal, Kenny King, and Marty Scurll are the first set of official entrants for their upcoming number one’s contender tournament for the ROH World Championship.

Major League Wrestling announced that Brazilian Jui Jitsu competitor Dominic Garrini will be making his official debut for the company at their War Chamber event on September 7th in North Richland Hills, Texas.
