The official premiere of WWE Backstage last night at 11 PM ET on FS1 drew a shockingly low 49,000 viewers with a 0.02 rating in the 18-49 demographic, according to Showbuzz Daily. It didn’t make the top 150 cable shows for the day.
The show previously aired two special preview episodes, which drew much higher numbers, likely thanks to strong lead-ins. On October 15, the show drew 597,000 viewers after an MLB playoff game. On October 25, it drew 426,000 viewers after SmackDown.
WWE and FOX did a lot to hype the show and it featured appearances from John Cena, Rob Gronkowski, Shawn Michaels and a new Firefly Fun House with Bray Wyatt.
