CBS Sports Names Adam Cole as Their Wrestler of the Year

CBS Sports recently announced that NXT’s Adam Cole took their 2019 Wrestler of the Year award.

Cole commented on being honored by CBS Sports during a recent episode of the State of Combat podcast.

“It’s really cool when you think back on all the cool stuff that has gone on for me this year, and you reflect back on all the big matches and moments. To close it out with something like this and being announced the wrestler of the year, that’s about as cool as it gets.”

Bruce Prichard Comments on the Steve Austin & Booker T Grocery Store Brawl Being Costly for WWE

A recent episode of the Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard podcast had Prichard answering a variety of fan questions, including a question about the memorable grocery store brawl segment between Steve Austin and Booker T during an episode of WWF SmackDown in 2001.

“Yeah, I’d probably add up the food and repairing a few things. It wasn’t that expensive. When you look at the costs of trying to recreate that in another world, actually being able to go into a grocery store and for them to allow us, the use of their store gave you that sense of reality. It didn’t look like Guy’s Grocery Games on the Food Network or anything like that. It was a real grocery store. They were kind enough to open their doors to us. Let us shoot that segment with Booker and Stone Cold. But it probably cost a few thousand dollars.”
