Vince McMahon is currently rumored to be considering plans to revive the XFL once again, according to The Athletic (via ProWrestling.net).
The Athletic’s Daniel Kaplan reported that XFL president Jeffrey Pollack recently contacted the cities of St. Louis and Seattle regarding the possibility of reinstating lease agreements with the league.
Kaplan also reported that some of XFL’s creditors currently believe that McMahon has been quietly making moves to buy the league out of bankruptcy in order to revive it again in the future. The source of their belief reportedly revolves around an issue with a recent proposal for McMahon’s Alpha Entertainment to repay the $3.5 million owed to season ticket holders, which has been viewed as an “unnecessary expenditure.” There have also been issues regarding the league’s headquarters remaining open and certain high level executives still being paid, which have also been viewed as unnecessary spending for a league meant to be in bankruptcy.
