Sting is no longer under WWE contract, according to a report by Pro Wrestling Sheet. It’s not clear when the deal ended.
Speculation about Sting’s current status ignited yesterday after toymaker Mattel pulled a Sting action figure from an upcoming figure line, saying, “Due to circumstances out of our control Sting needed to be removed from Legends Series 7.”
Speculation that AEW may be interested in signing Sting also started after Cody Rhodes posted a few interesting tweets at him and Sting complimented a couple of AEW wrestlers.
