WWE reportedly had planned for a major storyline to take place following WrestleMania 36, according to WrestleVotes.
WrestleVotes reported that WWE officials had worked on plans for a lengthy major storyline to take place over the course of several weeks during this spring and summer. But those plans were dropped due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It was also reported that this storyline would have played out similar to the Nexus invasion debut or the aborted “Who Killed Vince?” Vince McMahon limousine explosion storylines in terms of importance.
Details of what exactly WWE had planned were not stated nor is it currently known if this storyline will be revived once the company is allowed to run shows normally again with fans in attendance.
FWIW: I’ve been told there was a long major storyline that was to unfold over the span of weeks during the spring & summer, similar to the McMahon limo explosion or the Nexus invasion debut, that was put on hold due to no fans in attendance. Crowd reaction plays a major part.
