More on AEW vs. NXT Week 38 Viewership

The June 17th episodes of AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT saw both shows gain in viewership and key demographic rankings. AEW also maintained their advantage over NXT in terms of overall viewership and key demographic rankings.

AEW Dynamite drew 772,000 viewers on TNT and a #8 ranking in 18-49 demographic while NXT drew 746,000 viewers on USA Network and a #25 ranking in 18-49 demographic.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that both shows had their strongest gains with female teenager viewers with AEW increasing by 87.5% and NXT increasing by 221.4% compared to last week’s shows. In terms of key demographic viewers, AEW had 364,000 viewers and NXT had 262,000 viewers.

AEW reportedly won five out of eight quarter-hours in terms of overall viewership and all quarters in terms of key demographic viewership. NXT reportedly won the first two quarters and the main event quarter in terms of overall viewership.

AEW Dynamite started off with around 782,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was the MJF vs. Billy Gunn match and post-match brawl segment which gained 59,000 viewers. AEW’s biggest decline of the night was the Jon Moxley promo segment, Britt Baker and Rebel segment, and the start of the Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara vs. Best Friends match which lost 90,000 viewers.

WWE NXT started off with around 793,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was the Santos Escobar and Drake Maverick segment and the start of the NXT Women’s Championship match of Tegan Nox & Shotzi Blackheart vs. Sasha Banks & Bayley which gained 53,000 viewers. NXT’s biggest decline of the night was the Dakota Kai vs. Kayden Carter match, Bronson Reed vs. Leon Ruff match, and Reed’s post-match promo which lost 71,000 viewers.


Canadian Viewership for AEW’s June 17th Show and NXT’s June 12th Show

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that AEW drew a combined live viewership of 92,400 viewers for their June 17th episode of Dynamite on TSN 1 and TSN 2 in Canada.

NXT reportedly drew 27,000 viewers for their June 12th episode on Sportsnet 360 in Canada
