Shawn Michaels Involved in Backstage Argument on Racism at WWE PC

As noted before, Triple H held NXT talent meetings this past Sunday at WWE’s Performance Center focusing on racial inequality issues. These meetings were held both prior to and after NXT TakeOver: In Your House.

Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that a “heated” argument between Shawn Michaels and an unnamed producer took place backstage prior to the start of TakeOver.

Sapp reported that this incident revolved around Michaels’ discussing the current social climate with this unnamed producer, who shrugged off Michaels’ issues and stated that “everyone already gets treated the same” in the United States. This response reportedly did not sit well with Michaels, who then engaged in a heated discussion on systemic prejudice and inequality issues in the country.

Sapp also reported that NXT’s talent were mostly not aware of this incident until the next day and that Michaels worked in a professional manner with the person afterwards.

Sapp reported that his sources gave mixed responses following the publication of his report. One source stated that this was more of a simple discussion than a heated argument while one NXT talent stated that they overheard the unnamed producer saying Michaels “got hot” with him.
