Jon Moxley won’t be ready in time to take on Brian Cage at AEW Fyter Fest and instead, will face him at AEW Fight for the Fallen in two weeks.
Moxley’s wife Renee Young tested positive for COVID-19 last week and Moxley has been staying in the same house as her. So far, Moxley has tested negative in each COVID-19 test he’s taken, but with AEW Fyter Fest night two set to be taped tomorrow night, AEW likely thought that the safest bet would just be to push the match back a couple of weeks.
Fight for the Fallen will take place on July 15 in AEW’s usual Dynamite timeslot on TNT. AEW said that the show will be a fundraiser for COVID-19 relief and the Khan family has donated $1 million. Fans will also be able to donate more money.
Instead of the Moxley vs. Cage world title match at Fyter Fest next week, there will be a Tag Team title match between Kenny Omega & Hangman Page (c) and Private Party, who defeated Santana & Ortiz tonight.
